Mobile app development

Apps your customers can install, with honest advice first about whether you need an app store at all.

Codebase, both platforms

Growbz builds mobile apps for Indian businesses two ways: progressive web apps (PWAs) from ₹40,000, installable from the browser with no app store needed, and cross-platform Android/iOS apps from ₹1,50,000 where a store presence genuinely earns its cost. We will tell you which you need before you spend, and for most SMEs the honest answer is the cheaper one: a PWA delivers the icon on the home screen, push-style engagement and offline behaviour at a fraction of the price.

What we build

The app, the backend behind it, and the numbers.

Progressive web apps

Installable from a link, updates instantly, one build for every device. The right answer more often than app vendors admit.

Cross-platform apps

One codebase compiled for Android and iOS, for when you truly need store distribution and device features.

The backend included

Every app needs an admin panel and an API behind it. We build both, on the same PHP/MySQL stack as our web work.

Measurement built in

Installs are vanity; orders are sanity. Events wired from day one, the same discipline as our ad campaigns.

How a project runs

Challenge the premise first, then build.

  1. 01

    The should-this-be-an-app call

We start by challenging the premise. If a PWA or even a good mobile site serves the goal, we say so and quote that instead.

  2. 02

    Design for thumbs

Screens prototyped and approved before code: changes cost words now, money later.

  3. 03

    Build and beta

Working builds on your own phone every week; a small real-user beta before any public launch.

  4. 04

    Ship and support

Store listings handled (for store apps), backend deployed, and a support window that outlives the launch.

Who this is for

Businesses whose customers return often enough to want an icon.

Delivery and booking services, membership businesses, B2B ordering (dealers reordering weekly is the classic case). If customers use you once a year, they will not install your app, and we will say that in the first call rather than after your budget.

Results you can verify

Our mobile work stands on the same stack and discipline as everything else on this site: backends like the one running growbz.in itself, and measurement like the tracking behind our published campaign ledger. Start from your website if you have none: an app without a web presence is a roof without a house.

What it costs

The platform decision is the price decision.

Progressive web app (installable, offline-capable)

₹40,000 – ₹1,00,000

Cross-platform Android/iOS app with backend

₹1,50,000 – ₹5,00,000

What moves the number: screens and flows, payments, notifications, offline needs, and the admin panel behind it. Recurring reality: store apps carry Google/Apple developer fees and OS-update maintenance; PWAs mostly do not. If a vendor quoted you lakhs without asking what the app is for, get our second opinion first. It is free and occasionally saves the whole budget.

Frequently asked questions

A progressive web app: ₹40,000–₹1,00,000. A cross-platform Android/iOS app with its backend: ₹1,50,000–₹5,00,000. Anyone quoting a flat number before understanding your flows is quoting fiction; ours is fixed only after a written scope.

The test is frequency: customers who return weekly may want an icon; customers who visit twice a year will not install anything. A large share of the “we need an app” briefs we receive are better served by a PWA or a fast mobile site, and we say so.

A progressive web app is a website that installs like an app: icon on the home screen, works offline, no app store between you and your customers. It costs a third to a fifth of a store app and updates instantly. We recommend it because it is usually the right engineering answer, not because it is what we happen to sell.

Cross-platform (one codebase for Android and iOS) for business apps; the economics are decisively better at SME scale. Fully native development pays off for games and heavy device integration, which is rarely the brief; if it is yours, we will refer you honestly rather than learn on your budget.

PWAs: 3–6 weeks. Store apps: 8–16 weeks including review cycles. The backend and admin panel are usually half the work; budget-wise plans that ignore them are the ones that stall at 80%.

You do: code, backend, and the developer accounts created in your name. If we part ways, you lose nothing but us.

Start with the scope, not the spend.

A written spec and a fixed price cost you one conversation. Bring the messy spreadsheet; that is usually where the story is.
