What a Website Really Costs in India (and in AED for Dubai)

Ask five agencies what a website costs and you get five versions of "it depends". It does depend — but on a short list of knowable things, and an agency that publishes its prices can publish its ranges too. These are ours: in rupees for India, in dirhams for Dubai, with the factors that move each number.

The Short Answer

For an owner-run business, a professional website costs ₹15,000–₹2,50,000 in India and AED 1,500–18,000 in the UAE, and almost all of the spread comes from three choices: static or dynamic, template or custom design, and how much machinery (payments, booking, ordering) sits behind it.

Website type India (₹) UAE (AED)
Static business site (up to 10 pages) ₹15,000 – ₹40,000 AED 1,500 – 3,500
Dynamic site with CMS / admin panel ₹40,000 – ₹1,20,000 AED 3,500 – 9,000
E-commerce with payments & inventory ₹80,000 – ₹2,50,000 AED 7,000 – 18,000

Two notes on reading that table honestly. First, the AED figures are set for the UAE market, not converted from rupees — a conversion would produce numbers so low that Dubai buyers rightly wouldn't trust them. Second, these are our ranges; a Dubai agency with Marina rent will quote two to four times the AED column and some of that premium buys you in-person meetings. Whether that's worth it is a real question — here's our case for the remote answer.

India: What Each Type Costs

A static site is the right answer more often than agencies admit: if your site's job is to make a searcher trust you enough to call or WhatsApp, ten fast pages do that job completely. Most of our nine live client sites started exactly here.

A dynamic site earns its extra cost when content changes weekly — menus, galleries, offers, a blog you'll actually write. You're paying for the admin panel that lets your team update the site without calling a developer.

E-commerce is the widest range because "online store" spans a 20-product catalogue with UPI checkout to inventory sync, shipping rules and returns flows. The store itself is the cheap part; the operational logic is the build.

If a quote lands far below these ranges, ask what's missing. Usually it's mobile performance, SEO fundamentals, or ownership — a ₹8,000 site on someone else's page builder that you can never take with you is not cheaper, it's rented.

Dubai and the UAE: AED Prices

The Dubai market has a peculiar shape: global-agency pricing at the top, marketplace-freelancer chaos at the bottom, and a thin middle. Our AED ranges sit in that middle deliberately — professional build quality, delivered remotely from Chennai, priced without Dubai overheads.

What a UAE business should insist on at any price: mobile-first build (UAE traffic is overwhelmingly mobile), WhatsApp as a first-class contact path rather than a buried contact form, English content that reads like a person wrote it, and hosting plus domain in your name. VAT-wise, our invoicing is clean AED from an Indian entity — the details are on our UAE page.

What Actually Moves the Price

Four factors explain nearly every rupee and dirham of variation:

Page count & content readiness

Writing your content is real work — someone pays for it

Custom design vs template

Custom looks like you; templates look like everyone

Integrations

Payments, booking, WhatsApp, CRM — each adds build and testing

What happens after launch

Hosting, updates, and who fixes things at 9pm

The Costs Nobody Mentions

The build quote is not the whole bill. Domain renewal (₹800–1,500 or AED 50–120 a year), hosting (₹3,000–10,000 or AED 300–900 a year unless bundled), SSL (should be free — walk away from anyone charging for basic SSL), and content updates. Our own packages fold the first year of hosting in; whoever you hire, get the recurring costs in writing before the build starts, not after.

The other hidden cost is a website with no visitors. A site is infrastructure; demand comes from search visibility and paid campaigns. Budgeting everything into the build and nothing into being found is the most common mistake we see — it's why our monthly packages bundle the site with the marketing.

How to Budget Sensibly

Start from the site's job, not from a features list. If the job is "make searchers call us", a static site plus a local SEO and ads budget beats a fancy dynamic site with no marketing, every time, in both markets. If the job is "take orders at 2am", spend on the e-commerce machinery and skimp on nothing operational.

Our published prices are the honest starting point: standalone builds from ₹15,000, or monthly packages from ₹24,999 / AED 1,999 that bundle the website with SEO, ads and design. And the proof that the numbers translate into results is the nine client sites live right now — visit them and judge the build quality yourself.
